The High Country
area offers four seasons of fun and there is something for every
member of your family.

you are a lover of the game of golf, then you'll love it here in the
mountains. Take your game to "another level" at our higher
elevations. Boone Golf Club, Mountain Aire, Roan Mountain,
Hawksnest, Hound Ears and many other course are all within a short

Spring, Summer and Fall is a great time to go hiking, mountain
biking or white water rafting. There are hundreds of miles of
hiking trails, bike paths and you can either venture out on your own
or contract with one of many guide companies. Fishermen will
tell you that our area is rich with opportunities to fish the
Watauga River, The New River and more. Fly fishing is a
popular pastime.
Winter offers snow
sports. Appalachian, Hawksnest, Sugar and Ski Beech are all
